Campus Discovery | Android App
Campus Discovery: An Android Development Project 🤳
Main Skills: Java, Kotlin, Firebase, Mobile UI/UX Design
Background
In Fall 2022, a group of peers and I created an android app for our Objects and Design course (Software Development Methodologies) called Campus Discovery.
This app has the ability for students to create profiles and plan as well as attend events. These events are displayed on a dashboard, and the events can be expanded to see more detail about them. The events are also displayed on an interactive map that shows the exact location of where the vent is on campus.
How We Made It
Our group made this project using Java for the app’s logic, Android Studio’s XML files for the site UI and Firebase as the database to store the user information.
I specifically worked on making the app feel cohesive, as well as worked on features such as log in and event creation.
The Final Product
Below is a link to GitHub repository containing our code as well as a video that demos some of the features in the app. Our team used the Agile framework for getting work done, so the demo is from the end of our third sprint!
